Mock up for The Epic of Gilgamesh, the world's first epic!  It tells the tale of Sumer's great King Gilgamesh, unmatched by any other man until the gods decide to create his foil -- a wild man by the name of Enkidu -- to bring him balance.  The two form the bond of the century, and when Enkidu dies during one of their misadventures Gilgamesh is forced to face his own mortality.

 

This is one of my favorite stories, dealing with one of my favorite themes: love! 2023.
